When visiting Johannesburg I was blown away by the culture of the city. It’s a lively mixing pot of a city, where coffee lovers abound and grass roots markets are the go on Saturday mornings. I spent a morning with my cousin enjoying the sites, smells and sounds of Johannesburg’s Neighbourgood Market. Having immigrated to Australia in the year 2001, I have spent many years pining for my “native” treats. Well let’s just say I ate my little heart out at the markets enjoying every treat I had been deprived of for over a decade. Afterwards we had a brief sticky beak at the parliament offices, where a statue of Nelson Mandela stands, topped off with a quick squizzy at the Johannesburg skyline.
