On Easter Monday I found myself roaming the streets of Geelong looking for somewhere super dee-lish to rest and dine – cue the Box Office Cafe. Hidden away just off Pakington Street, you can find this small little world of authentic food and coffee. I spent a lazy lunch time perusing the menu, chatting to staff and eating myself to happiness and contentment.
The cafe is tucked away on Preston Street just off Pakington Street. Nestled in one of the prime foodie locations in Geelong this Cafe is fighting its way to the top amongst some big contenders. With the standard already so high on the foodie strip these guys are only but raising the bar.
Sitting among rustic wooden tables, a shipping container for a kitchen and staff dressed with in dungarees and an a happy contagious laisez-faire approach, I was excited to try the food. My personal selections for the day were a cashew milk latte (yes that’s right cashew milk), a smashed avocado and green pea dish with a side of chorizo (completely gluten free and dairy free), followed up by a banana almond milk smoothie. Not only impressed with my selections I couldn’t help but be impressed with every other dish brought out to it’s prospective muncher. Me and my fellow patrons all eyed off each other’s meals wondering what corresponding menu description adorned their plates.
The Box Office cafe can only be explained as authentic. No pretence. Just good healthy food, an allergy friendly attitude and fantastic friendly service. Not to mention amazing coffee. If you’re after a casual but amazing meal out this is the place to go. Mark and his staff at the Box Office Cafe will be sure to look after you.
